IC conference Apprentice Interpreter Course – October 2/3, 2022

Times:

• Day 1 – 10:00 am – 6:00 pm (Classroom session)
• Day 2 – 10:00 am – 11:00 am – Exam

Location: Saint Mary’s University – CLARI lab ( Atrium 340), Halifax, NS

This is an in-person course in Interpretation offered to people attending the Interpretation Conference in Halifax.

Cost: $169 plus GST

This course is being offered at a discounted rate for people attending the IC Halifax conference. It includes one full year of the IGA membership worth $89.

Once you have registered for this course you will receive an email with the course agenda, the pre-course reading assignment, and the course handbooks.

Completing the pre-course reading, answering the questions associated with it, and participating in classroom discussions and group work will help you pass the exam.

You must complete all classroom hours and receive 70% or more on all sections of the course exam to become certified as an Apprentice Interpreter.

IGA Professional Dues:  You must pay professional dues yearly in order to keep your certification in good standing so mark one year from your certification date onto your calendar. Emails will be sent as reminders so make sure your user profile is kept up to date.

Once you have registered, you will have access to your user profile documents. This section gives you access to your certification(s), course files, handbooks, receipts, and more. Once you have passed the exam, you will have full access to the guides’ and members’ section of our website. This section gives you access to pro-deal information and a number of other great guide resources.
